Challenge
To get already successful and operating Glue Store site from the Magento 1 platform to the Magento 2. All this without losing the authority of the site when moving on to the new site.
Solution
Use the current partner, Netstarter, who was supporting the M1 site to do the M2 build.
As the Head of Digital at Glue Store. I was heavily involved with the discovery process of the new website and did all the quality testing, pre and post launch.
Website Integrations
Data Flow to a New Codebase
One of the complications that arose with the Magento 2 build for Glue Store was the multiple integrations that existed in the Magento 1 site, needed to also exist with the new Magento 2 site.
The Magento 2 codebase is vastky different to that of Magento 1. This meant the integrations had to be done all over again.
API’s were used to connect most applications. However, one application that polls stock from the physical stores was goign through a refresh; to catch up with the new Magento 2 platform.
Enginuety by Fluent OMS team enable a primative but effective solution whilst a new version of their application was launched that enabled full API connection.
