Challenge
DJO had an existing online store that was on a soon to be unsupported Magento 1 platform. Having to move to Magento 2 all the data of the old store needed to be migrated to the new store. Data such as order history, customer accounts, products and blog content. All this needed to be done within a quater of a budget for a Magento 2 re-platform project.
Solution
Since Kipanga was supporting the Magento 1 site, it was natural to partner with them for the Magento 2 project.
The big picture was to use the Magento 2 store to connect with other applicatons the business uses such as the finance and customer service software. This enabled the business to save countless hours manually handling website related data.
Website Development
Make it Easy to Use
The mandate given to Kipanga was to make it easy for the customer to shop. Researching how the customers interacted with the Magento 1 site and with the wish list from the Sales teams customers. Kipanga were able to build something visually pleasing and functional.
The website build also incorporated connections to software used within the business. Instead of information having to be manually keyed in. Items like orders, sales, inventory were all automated. Resulting in significant costs.
Website Redesign
The Challenge With Limited Budget
Due to the huge constraint in budget, smart hacks needed to be used. Significant savings were made using existing DJO Magento 2 templates from the global IT team.
These templates were used to form the basis of the site. Using Magento coding principles the team at Kipanga made the changes briefed by me.
Huge levels of customization had to be made as the initial templates were for a B2C audience which we taylored for B2B.
